These TUF 10 alumni will have a reunion of sorts when they square off at the show. While Schaub and Mitrione both pack power, expect the former to shoot for takedowns instead of letting his papier-mâché chin get tested. Mitrione’s takedown defense should be good enough to stymie the attempts, though his ability to get off the cage if clinched on the fence is a bit more up in the air. If there’s a finish, it will be Mitrione winning. If a decision, count on Schaub’s hand being raised. WINNER: Matt Mitrione def. Brendan Schaub via Knockout
Toronto will be a busy town tomorrow night when the UFC sets up shop for their latest stop in the Canadian hub. With headlining bouts between Renan Barao-Eddie Wineland and Jon Jones-Alexander Gustafsson on tap, the card also features eleven other efforts sure to please fans attending the event as well as those tuning in from home. There are nine fighters on the card with one or less losses, a pair of heavyweight sluggers likely to leave a lasting impression on viewers, and some seasoned veterans out to take the next step up in their respectable careers. In general, UFC 165 should be a great show, and an excellent way to close out the company’s 2013 calendar in Canada.
