Ross Pearson on Melvin Guillard, His UFC Journey, and More

UFC lightweight Ross Pearson aimed to turn heads as a 145er after mixed results at 155 pounds, dipping down to featherweight only to find out the process was more grueling than anticipated and didn’t make much of a difference. The Ultimate Fighter 9 winner returned to his current divisional home after a TKO loss to Cub Swanson and has looked exceptional in both bouts since the move, knocking out George Sotiropoulos and Ryan Couture respectively. Though the 29-year old Brit knows he has a big challenge in front of him this weekend at UFC Fight Night 30 in the form of Melvin Guillard, Pearson is feeling confident entering the clash. He recently explained why to UFC.com, referring to his past experiences in the Octagon as being key to victory against the heavy-handed Guillard. (Photos by USA Today Sports Images)
