Interestingly enough, Ryan Jimmo only received a seven-day suspension despite losing to Jimi Manuwa due to an apparently leg injury. Whether he was playing things up to escape further abuse from Manuwa or just had a minor tweak costing him in the moment will hopefully come to light in the immediate future, as it’s a strange situation. Also, it’s good to see Machida escaped unscathed and will be ready to rock again in early 2014 if not sooner as an injury-oriented replacement.
Last weekend’s lineup for UFC Fight Night 30 produced a pretty solid dose of violence including brutal brawls, strike-based stoppages, and a technical submission. However, the action-packed event didn’t result in an equivalent amount of injuries, as only one fighter is at risk of spending an extended period of time on the sidelines. The UFC recently produced a list of suspensions relation to the English outing where, thankfully, the bulk of the evening’s competitors will only be shelved for precautionary reasons.
