Dan Henderson isn’t about to hang up the MMA gloves following his first career knockout loss Saturday night to Vitor Belfort.
Henderson and Belfort comprised the main event of UFC Fight Night 32, and it was “The Phenom” delivering the bone-crunching hits in Brazil.
For Henderson, the bout completed his current UFC contract. He has yet to decide his future, but it definitely involves fighting again.
“I just got caught,” said Henderson, who was interviewed by FOX Sports 2 before heading to the hospital. “I’m not done. I just got caught (Saturday night). I was ready to go for this fight, I just got caught.
“That happens. After 16 years, it was bound to happen.”
Henderson protested the stoppage immediately afterwards, adding “I would have liked to try and fight out of it for a little bit, but I can’t complain too much (with the decision).”
The former PRIDE and Strikeforce champion has now lost three straight fights for the first time in his career.
