Jon Jones Addresses Change Of Date In Glover Teixeira Fight

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones took to Twitter to explain the flip-flop in news that he was fighting Glover Teixeira, than he wasn’t.

It was reported earlier this week that the two would meet at UFC 170, but UFC president Dana White stated a day later that it would not go down in February.

Jones, expecting to hear it from his “haters,” addressed the decision.

“I want to do my job wholeheartedly and give you all nothing but my best,” he wrote. “Please excuse the time I felt that was necessary.”

In response to someone saying he was “scared,” Jones replied “I understood this would be coming.”

He reiterated that plans are still in place to face the Brazilian in early 2014.

Don’t read the comments of this story on Yahoo! unless you want a good laugh and you’ve put your MMA knowledge away somewhere, stupidity running rampant.

That being said I don’t see the big deal about this really, it’s being made like he pulled out of the fight when really he just asked for the fight to be pushed back a month or two and Dana said ok. He’s still fighting Glovier so I don’t see all that big of a problem.
