UFC president Dana White was adamant still days after the fact in stating there will be a rematch between UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and Johny Hendricks.
St-Pierre earned a controversial split decision victory over Hendricks this past weekend, and promptly surprised everybody – White included – when he stated his desire to walk away from MMA.
After having a few days to reflect, White told “UFC Tonight” that GSP will fight again; and it will be against Hendricks.
“Yes, there will be a rematch,” White said. “Georges St-Pierre did not retire on Saturday night.”
On his Twitter page, GSP posted a photo with the caption “Johny and I gave you the Fight of the Night- hope you enjoyed it! Forget all the rumors- on vacation, happy & well” earlier Wednesday.
