Recently-released UFC fighter Rousimar Palhares has found a new home, signing a multi-fight deal with the World Series of Fighting.
News of the contract agreement was first reported by MMAjunkie.com on Monday. No opponent has been announced for Palhares, but he is expected to compete on the March card.
“Rousimar is one of the most talented athletes in mixed martial arts, and we’re excited to have him as a part of our organization,” WSOF president Ray Sefo said.
Palhares (15-5) was cut from the UFC’s active roster after failing to release a heel hook on Mike Pierce after Pierce had tapped. It wasn’t the first time he has been called out for failing to release a submission hold.
