TUF 18 Finale: Female Fighters Will Receive Spots On Card

All eight fighters who made up the first female season of The Ultimate Fighter will receive bouts inside the Octagon – just not all this Saturday at The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale.

Shayna Baszler and Sarah Moras both suffered injuries and will not be able to compete this weekend.

The finals, consisting of Julianna Pena taking on the winner of Wednesday’s semifinal between Raquel Pennington and Jessica Rakoczy, will be joined by bouts featuring the other cast members.

That includes Roxanne Modafferi, Jessamyn Duke and Peggy Morgan. Duke and Morgan have already been announced as opponents for each other, leaving Modafferi to face the loser of the semifinal.

“Yes, I am fighting in the UFC on Saturday!” Modafferi posted on Twitter. “It’s my dream! Literally, my dream of years in the making! It’s an honor.”

Bouts are expected to be announced after the show airs Wednesday on FOX Sports 1. Reports have no male fighters outside of the finals being added to the lineup.

I am really looking forward to this show. Duke vs Morgan should be pretty sweet, and Roxanne vs the loser of Pennington vs Rakoczy will be fun but I am rooting for Roxy no matter who it is. I think Julianna wins this TUF season whoever she fights.
