NorthEast MMA Thanksgiving Wishes

With the Holiday season coming upon us, I want to wish the NorthEast MMA community a safe and enjoyable season. In particular, we all hope that Rick Hawn and Brennan Ward take the time to eat anything and everything, which will be a rare treat for these two New England Warriors. CES, Gladius, and Coliseum to the Cage are on the horizon. Oh, Shelly the Waitress delivers!

Rick Hawn just completed a successful run through the Bellator Welterweight Tournament, collecting his second tournament title and the $100K that comes with it. Rick won the finals with a third round KO of Ron Kesslar last Friday night, clinching the tournament title. Rick will next face Douglas Lima for the Bellator World Welterweight Title some time in early 2014.

Likewise, Brennan Ward also completed his successful run through the Bellator Middleweight Tournament with a second round finish of Mikkel Parlo a week and a half ago. The win was the third straight second round finish for Brennan, who collected his first Bellator tournament check for $100K. Brennan will face current Bellator Middleweight Champ Alexander Shlemenko in the next Bellator season.

So to Brennan Ward and Rick Hawn, eat, drink, and be merry!!!

Don’t forget to check out Truimph MMA’s Peggy Morgan this Saturday, November 30, as she will be fighting on the Ultimate Fighter 18.  Peggy is the region’s tom MMA lady and she will have the opportunity to rebound from her only loss earlier on TUF 18.  Good Luck Peggy!

On the weekend of December 6th and 7th, we have three notable events in our region. CES will be back to Twin Rivers (RI), Coliseum to the Cage is back in Derry (NH), and Gladius Fights returns to Ithaca (NY).

Shelly the Waitress Delivers!
One final Thanksgiving note; Cage Titan Promoter Mike Polvere and his lovely bride Shelly the Waitress became proud parents of 7lb 2oz Carter Michael Polvere. Mike dropped an e-mail to me yesterday. Congratulations to the family, and we all wish you a happy Thanksgiving!
