Former Strikeforce welterweight champion Tarec Saffiedine has waited months to make his UFC debut.
And, after news Thursday that Jake Ellenberger had suffered an injury, Saffiedine was likely thinking his debut would be delayed yet again.
Well, have no fear, as UFC officials have saved the day. Hyun Gyu Lim will step in for Ellenberger and meet Saffiedine at UFC Fight Night 34 on January 4 from Singapore.
Lim (12-3-1) is a perfect 2-0 since joining the promotion. The Korean fighter was scheduled for the card vs. Kiichi Kunimoto, who is expected to remain in the fight lineup.
Saffiedine (14-3) was the final Strikeforce champion, earning the belt from Nate Marquardt.
No word yet on when Ellenberger may return to action.
