Chris Weidman-Anderson Silva Rematch Gains Herb Dean

Herb Dean will have the closest view possible to the rematch between UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva later this month at UFC 168.

Dean, who was the referee in charge back in July when Weidman stunned Silva, will once again be the third man inside the Octagon.

“The first fight was quite strange, and I normally don’t recommend the same ref for the rematch, but here, I think it would actually be very appropriate,” Nevada Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer stated to the commission (thanks to MMAjunkie.com for providing the quotes).

Set for December 28, the card also features UFC female bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey facing off with Miesha Tate for a second time.

How was the first fight quite strange? Silva did what he always did and finally someone called his bluff and punched him in the face during it.
