To be quite honest, this bout wouldn’t be likely to make a “Top 5 Exciting Wins” when it comes to Bader’s career but beating a former champion with a decade of success can’t be denied in terms of overall impact. Furthermore, the pairing took place in Japan, increasing the involved pressure based on Jackson’s star-power in the region and requisite travel. Regardless, Bader handled Jackson on all fronts, occasionally out-striking him and definitely dominating him when action hit the mat. In the end, Bader walked away with a Unanimous Decision victory and a fairly nice feather to fly in his hat.
UFC light heavyweight Ryan Bader (15-4) looked like a future star after his run on the Ultimate Fighter 8 and, for the most part, has lived up to the hype. Though he’s suffered a few stumbles in the Octagon, three of his losses came against former champions and the fourth involved the division’s current #1 contender. Bader will look to get back on the winning track this weekend at UFC Fight Night 33 when he faces Anthony Perosh. “Darth” is definitely the favorite entering the fight and, when looking at a list of his five biggest victories, it’s easy to see why… (Photos by USA Today Sports Images)
