Thiago Alves has had a difficult time remaining healthy through 2013, but “The Pitbull” believes that will change when the calendar switches.
It was reported on “UFC Tonight” Wednesday that Alves is 100-percent healthy and looking to be booked for the March UFC 171 card from Dallas.
After being forced to pull out of bouts vs. Siyar Bahadurzada and Matt Brown since an early 2012 loss to Martin Kampmann, Alves confirmed those plans to return via Twitter.
“I said before and gonna say it again…2014 is the year of the PITBULL!” he posted.
Alves (19-9) worked his way up to a title fight with Georges St-Pierre in 2009, falling via decision. Since, he has went 2-3, with losses to Rick Story and Jon Fitch by decision.
