Former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans is planning a rude welcoming to the division for Daniel Cormier at UFC 170 next month.
The two, who have worked side-by-side on FOX Sports broadcasts for several events, will comprise the co-main event on February 22.
While they share a mutual respect, that doesn’t mean they are going to ignore hyping up the fight and having some fun with each other on Twitter – which they recently did.
Cormier posted a picture of himself after a practice session with the caption “I do this in case I slip and fall and Rashad Evans does take me down :).”
Evans, of course, responded with “well you better do it with the gi cuz we aren’t wearing those! Also I took you down before so it will happen again! Easy work!:)”
Not to be out-done, “DC” fired back, writing, “it wasn’t both hands locked. It was just against the cage, though, either way when we fight if I want you down you will be down!” He also got in the last comment, saying he will be “sending (Evans) to (185 pounds)!”
