Rampage to Take Part in Bellator Tourney

UFC-turned-Bellator star Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will be taking part in the upcoming Season 10 light-heavyweight tournament, and his quarterfinal opponent will be former champ Christian M’Pumbu, according to a release from Bellator. The match-up will take place at Bellator 110 on February 28 at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut.

Also competing in the tournament is Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal, who will be facing Mikhail Zayats in another quarterfinal bracket. Rampage and King Mo have had a long-simmering beef stemming from King Mo’s days in Strikeforce, so it’s anticipated that if the two do meet up at some point in the tournament, there will be heat.

However – HOWEVER – Bellator tournaments are notorious for waylaying the best laid plans of mice and men, so it is far from a sure thing the two will ever face each other.

Rampage’s debut in the Bellator organization saw him defeat fellow UFC vet Joey Beltran by knockout.

I can’t see Ol’ fatass staying in shape well for the tight schedule of a tournament format. That said even old rampage is a league above the rest of the field, so he might be anle to cruise on talent alone.
