Rory MacDonald isn’t quite sure where the news came about saying he was medically suspended for 180 days, as the fighter is disputing those reports.
MacDonald posted on Twitter that he only received a 20-day medical suspension following his decision win over Demian Maia this past weekend in Las Vegas at UFC 170.
“2 clear the air the rumors these reporters are writing about me having a 180 suspension are false,” he posted. “I have a 20 day suspension. I’m fine!
“And there is no ankle injury at all.”
The report had MacDonald needing to get his right ankle looked at before would be cleared to fight again. He did suffer a hand injury after cutting himself while preparing an avocado.
MacDonald is hoping to become the next contender to the UFC welterweight title, which will crown a champion next month when Johny Hendricks meeting Robbie Lawler.
