C.B. Dollaway Starts 2014 With KO Victory

Maybe Brazil can become C.B. Dollaway’s home away from home, as he earned another victory in the country Sunday night at UFC Fight Night 38.

The former Ultimate Fighter runner-up improved to 3-1 with a TKO victory over Cezar Ferreira in just 39 seconds.

“My stand up game is developing, and mixed with my wrestling, hopefully we can make our way into the Top-10 and become a real contender,” Dollaway said.

Dollaway (14-5) is an ex-NCAA wrestler for Arizona State University. He lost a split decision to Tim Boetsch to conclude 2013, but earned a win over Daniel Sarafian in Brazil last January.

Despite the victory, Dollaway did mention he had some “swelling” on his right hand already, which could indicate a broken bone. It was still an early birthday present for someone special in his life.

“I want to wish my wife, Jenny, a happy birthday (Monday),” he said. “That was your birthday present.”

I’ll be honest, I don’t like Dollaway, but even I have to admit that his last two performances were pretty impressive. Granted, I’m not sold on Mutante as a future contender, but even so, to put someone away like that at this level of competition is impressive.
