Kenny Robertson Makes Quick Work Of Thiago Perpetuo At UFC Natal

Kenny Robertson landed a huge head-kick and followed it up with a display of excellence on the ground, securing a submission victory over Thiago Perpeuto at UFC Fight Night 38 Sunday night from Brazil.

Robertson (13-3) was coming off a decision loss to Sean Pierson last June. He had previously scored a submission victory vs. Brock Jardine at UFC 157 over a year ago.

“Any win is a big win in the UFC,” he said. “Thiago’s a tough dude and I trained my butt off for this fight. It worked out.”

A standout wrestler at Eastern Illinois University, Robertson started his career 10-0. He has since gone 3-3, including a 2-2 mark with the UFC.

Robertson showed those mat skills in reversing Perpeuto and getting into a strong position just moments into the bout.

“I knew he would come out swinging hard,” Robertson said. “I ended up landing that head kick and once I had him on the ground, I held position until I got on top of him.

“After that, that is where I want to be.”
