UFC president Dana White is still a few weeks away from sitting down with Jon Jones and finding out when the light heavyweight champion wants to step back inside the Octagon.
In the meantime, White is already looking ahead to see what he can do with Jones and Alexander Gustafsson. And the idea of the rematch going down in Sweden excites the boss.
“Forty thousand seats,” said White, in an interview with ESPN. That will sell out like that. I was just talking to (Anschutz Entertainment Group) guys and it’s 40,000. We’ll sell out.”
The notion of putting Jones-Gustafsson in Sweden, the home country of the challenger, was brought up following a recent successful title defense by Jones. White liked it than, and after hearing what kind of arrangements they can get going across the ocean, he seems even more interested.
Currently, the UFC’s schedule has them visiting Stockholm in October.
Jones defeated Gustafsson last year via decision. “Bones” has gone on to defeat Glover Teixeira, while “The Mauler” stopped Jimi Manuwa.
