The UFC held a ticket sales press conference for UFC Fight Night 43 in New Zealand recently and announced a handful of new bouts for the card.
Set for June 28 from the Vector Arena in Auckland, the card will be the debut for the UFC in New Zealand. Nate Marquardt and James Te Huna are scheduled for a middleweight battle in the main event.
New fights made official include Anthony Perosh vs. Gian Villante, Robert Whittaker vs. Mike Rhodes, Jon Delos Reyes vs. Richie Vaculik and Vik Grujic vs. Chris Indich.
Perosh, who hails from Australia, will be trying to rebound from a loss to Ryan Bader last December that dropped him to 14-8 overall and 4-5 with the UFC. Villante (11-5) has won just once in three Octagon appearances.
Whittaker (11-4) is a former winner of The Ultimate Fighter and was born in New Zealand, while Rhodes (6-2) lost his debut with the promotion to George Sullivan in January. Reyes (7-3) and Vaculik (9-2) are both 0-1 with the UFC, as are Grujic (6-3) and Indich (5-2).
