Bellator Results: Weichel Wins Featherweight Title

bellator 119

A week before debuting on pay-per-view, Bellator 119 went down from the Casino Rama in Ontario, Canada.

In the main event, Daniel Weichel won the season 10 featherweight tournament crown by submitting Desmond Green in the second round. Weichel locked in a rear-naked choke for the win, earning himself a future title shot.

John Alessio scored his first MMA win since early in 2012 when he earned a decision over Eric Wisley. Alessio, a native of Canada, improved to 35-17 in his career thanks to out-striking Wisley 53-21. He threw almost 100 more strikes in the 15-minute fight.

Marius Zaromskis picked up a decision victory over Vaughan Anderson, while heavyweights Raphael Butler and Nick Rossborough fought to a majority draw.

On the prelims, Brian Rogers scored a much-needed victory when he delivered a flying knee that knocked Adrian Miles out in the second round.

Next Saturday night, Bellator 120 takes place on PPV and will feature a main event between lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez and Michael Chandler. Also, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson takes on Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal in the season 10 light heavyweight final.
