Set for July 5, the event takes place from Las Vegas and Mandalay Bay Events Center. In the main event, Chris Weidman defends his middleweight title against Lyoto Machida, while Ronda Rousey faces Alexis Davis for the female bantamweight belt.
Faber and Caceres each “agreed” to face each other recently via Twitter when “Bruce Leeroy” stated it would be an honor to meet the former WEC champion. Faber posted a picture he doctored in photoshop in agreement.
Since joining the UFC, Faber (30-7) has posted a 6-3 record. All three of those defeats have come in title fights, including a recent loss to Renan Barao for the title.
Other than two losses to Barao and one to Dominick Cruz, Faber has stopped the likes of Ivan Menjivar, Scott Jorgensen and Michael McDonald.
Caceres (10-5) is an alum of The Ultimate Fighter who is unbeaten in his last five. He is 4-0 with one no-contest since a 2012 split decision loss to Edwin Figueroa. He owns victories over Sergio Pettis, Roland Delorme and Damacio Page.
