Thiago Silva, who was arrested this past February after threatening his wife and a local Brazilian jiu-jitsu instructor, will compete again inside the cage.
Silva will be fighting at Fight Time 20 on August 29 from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and the War Memorial Auditorium. He was immediately released from the UFC after the run-in with the law.
“Breaking News! Thiago Silva will fight during Fight Time 20 on Aug. 29th from historic War Memorial Auditorium,” the promotions Instagram account reported on Friday.”
The 31-year-old was released from jail on bond in March after initially being denied bail. He returned to training in Florida with the Blackzilians.
Silva (16-3) had actually won his last two bouts, earning a decision over Matt Hamill and a knockout of Rafael Cavalcante. An opponent has yet to be announced.
