Unbeaten Nurmagomedov Answers Cerrone’s Challenge

khabib nurmagomedov

Khabib Nurmagomedov has accepted the challenge of Donald Cerrone.

Even prior to defeating Jim Miller, Cerrone let it be known he would welcome a fight with the unbeaten Nurmagomedov, who has had trouble finding an opponent in the UFC’s lightweight division.

Now, with “Cowboy” riding a four-fight win streak – all of which have been finishes – he has heard back from Nurmagomedov.

“Let’s go,” the fourth-ranked Nurmagomedov wrote on Twitter after Cerrone’s second round knockout win over Miller. “I’m ready.”

Nurmagomedov (22-0) is coming off three straight decision wins over Rafael dos Anjos, Pat Healy and Abel Trujillo. He is 6-0 since signing with the UFC in 2012.

Later, Nurmagomedov added in a message sent to UFC president Dana White that “I want 5 rounds with Cerrone, I want to test myself.”

Definitely a bummer. So with Khabib out, how bout replacing him with Nate? :)

That’s one rematch I wouldn’t mind at all, and I know Cowboy would love a chance to avenge that loss.

Dana could make a side bet with Nate… finish Cowboy & we’ll tear up the current contract and redo it to match what Gil is getting paid. Fail to finish Cowboy & Nate has to agree to finish out his current deal with no more bitching. Don’t be scared, homie.

would love to see that Richard, first fight was great fun. Would also like to see another Benson Henderson rematch. I know Benson is already 2 up, but that was in the WEC, things have changed. it’d be an awesome fight once again
