Anthony Johnson is a changed man.
“Rumble” has figured out his natural weight and is making the most of a second chance in the UFC. Tonight, Johnson takes on Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in the co-main event of UFC on FOX 12.
Following his release for another failed weigh-in, Johnson (17-4) was forced to go back to the drawing board. He won six straight, including four finishes and a decision over Andrei Arlovski.
“I was a different dude back then,” said Johnson, during an interview with MMAjunkie.com. “I didn’t care about nothing. I thought I was the dude, and I wasn’t even the champ. I didn’t take life as serious as I do now.
“I’m really giving this thing a run. I’m actually taking a chance now at doing the best that I can in this sport and being the best that I can.”
Johnson stepped right into the fire upon returning to the Octagon, defeating Phil Davis via decision. He was released from the UFC in 2012 after going 7-4.
