An injury to Mirsad Bektic has forced officials to scramble and sign Clay Collard for this Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 49 card.
Collard will step in for the unbeaten Bektic and face Max Holloway on the FOX Sports 1 main card, which begins at 10 p.m. ET and features Benson Henderson against Rafael dos Anjos.
Collard (13-4) has earned 10 career stoppage wins, including eight of the knockout variety. He has won three straight, including a win over Justin Buchholz, a veteran of the UFC and member of Team Alpha Male.
Holloway (9-3) sports a 5-3 Octagon mark that includes recent wins over Will Chope and Andre Fili this year. He lost to Dennis Bermudez and Conor McGregor prior to winning each of his past two fights.
