Fight Week Diet with Joey Beltran

UFC Veteran Joey Beltran has fought at both heavyweight and light heavy weight. The veteran of 26 pro MMA fights (including 10 in the UFC) has wins over Aaron Rosa and Tim Hague.

Beltran breaks down what he eats leading up to his fight and how ensures that he makes weight and feels his best in the cage.

“Fight week diet is not super crazy for me. No sodium, clean ingredients. Lots and lots of water. I try and slug about 2 gallons of water for the first 3 days of fight week.”

Beltran might not say it is ‘crazy’ but he is pretty organized with it.

“We fight on Saturday and we get there Tuesday. First days is the 2 gallons of water and I start to cut that down gradually. It’s pretty easy for me. I have a fast metabolism I guess”
