WSOF 16: Rousimar Palhares Tap Jon Fitch With Painful Looking Kneebar

Jon Fitch

Rousimar Palhares made quick work of fellow UFC vet Jon Fitch at last night’s WSOF 16 card in Sacramento, and he did so, surprise, surprise, by attacking the renowned welterweight’s legs.

The leglock master forced Fitch to tap-out to a painful looking knee bar shortly into the fight, and in doing so, Palhares remains the WSOF Welterweight Champion.

You can watch the finishing move by heading here, and you can also evaluate whether you think Palhares held onto the submission for too long. The accomplished fighter has been disciplined in the past for doing so, and was let go by the UFC for injuring Mike Pierce with a prolonged heel hook.

This debate aside, Palhares continues to roll and has to be near the top of the ‘most feared’ list at this juncture. Hopefully Fitch isn’t seriously injured.

“Toquinho” now carries a record of 17-6. Fitch’s fell to 26-7-1.
