At a time when Jon Jones is dominating headlines, after testing positive for cocaine metabolites, news has surfaced that Vitor Belfort has passed not one, but several drug tests…
Belfort is scheduled to fight middleweight champ Chris Weidman at UFC 184 on February 28th. Due to Belfort’s well documented issues with TRT, however, the fighter was licensed under the condition he would be repeatedly tested.
According to a recent report from MMA Fighting.com, the Nevada State Athletic Commission has confirmed that Belfort has passed three drug tests, leading up to UFC 184.
The commission’s executive director, Bob Bennett, was quoted saying:
“Both him and his wife have been extremely cooperative, polite, professional and friendly throughout this process,” Bennett said. “They have been consummate pros to date.”
Belfort is riding a three fight win streak and is coming off a KO win over Dan Henderson in November, 2013.
UFC 184 will be hosted by the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
