Anderson Silva Tests Clean For PEDs in Second UFC 183 Test

The MMA world is still reeling from the news that Anderson Silva allegedly tested positive for steroids in a pre-UFC 183 drug test, but according to multiple reports, that was not the case for his second round of exams.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission has informed several outlets that Silva’s second, out-of-competition drug test was negative for human-growth-hormone and other types of performance enhancing drugs. According to a report from MMA Fighting.com the second test was conducted on January 19th.

Silva’s first test, which was taken on January 9th, ¬†was allegedly positive for¬†drostanolone and androstane. The former middleweight champ has denied taking any type of PED.

The 39 year-old Silva ended up scoring a unanimous decision win over Nick Diaz on January 31st. The Brazilian star is scheduled to appear in front of the NSAC on February 17th.

On Monday, the UFC also announced that Silva will no longer coach the latest season of TUF Brazil as scheduled.
