The upcoming Bellator 144 card will now feature two title fights, as Brandon Halsey and Rafael Carvalho meet for the vacant middleweight belt.
Set for October 23 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut, Eduardo Dantas challenges Marcos Galvao for the bantamweight title in the main event. The main card airs live on Spike TV.
Halsey (9-0) was stripped of the title earlier this year when he missed weight for a scheduled title fight vs. Kendall Grove. He went on to score his seventh Bellator win over Grove, but will now attempt to win back his belt.
Carvalho (11-1) has picked up a pair of Bellator wins to cement his place in line. The 29-year-old Brazilian downed Joe Schilling and Brina Rogers, and has won 11 consecutive overall.
The bout was confirmed by Bellator president Scott Coker on The MMA Road Show with John Morgan.
