Elevation Fight Team’s Coach Responds to Urijah Faber’s Claims

Urijah Faber

Yes, the fallout from TJ Dillashaw’s departure from Team Alpha Male continues, and now the bantamweight champ’s new coach has entered into the fray.

Last week Dillashaw made headlines by confirming he’s leaving the Sacramento based TAM, and will be training with the Elevation Fight Team in Colorado. TAM’s founder, Urijah Faber has said he hopes to remain friends with Dillashaw, but relayed¬†the star won’t be welcome to train with the team.

Faber isn’t exactly pleased about how this all played out, and he also accused Elevations’ coach, Leister Bowling, of trying to recruit other TAM fighters. Bowling, however, says that isn’t true.

While speaking to MMA Fighting.com recently, Bowling had this to say about Faber’s claims:

“Our doors are always open to anybody who wants to come train,” Bowling said. “But I think the biggest thing Urijah said that’s not true is that I’m trying to actively recruit guys. I don’t want a whole lot of high-level guys. I want to be able to focus on the guys we do have. Right now, I think we have 10 guys in the UFC and I want to be able to give those guys every bit of attention I can.”

Bowling also revealed that UFC vets Matt Brown and Clay Guida have elected to train with the Denver team. So, when you consider it also includes the likes of Brandon Thatch, Cat Zingano and Neil Magny, Elevation is really stacking its roster.
