Urijah Faber and TJ Dillashaw both have fights booked in the coming months, but much of the talk these days is about the two of them squaring off…
Yes, ever since Dillashaw announced last week that he’s leaving Team Alpha Male to train in Colorado, he and Faber have traded words through the media. Faber has argued Dillashaw always cared more about himself than TAM, and has said the bantamweight champ can’t train with them moving forward.
Dillashaw, predictably, didn’t care for Faber’s comments, and has since said he’d fight the former WEC champ. Dillashaw made it clear he doesn’t want to fight Faber, but ultimately would, if asked.
“At this point, I don’t really have a reason not to fight him other than that we’ve been friends for a long time. Before, it was ‘We’re on the same team.’ We’re not, now. I’ve got to say ‘Yes’ to it at this point.”
So, really, no one should be surprised to hear this. It does seem like there’s some bad blood between the two, and this would be a huge, huge fight if it happens. In other words, both Dillashaw and Faber would likely rake in some serious cash if they agree to fight.
First things first, of course. Dillashaw has to fight Dominick Cruz on January 17th, and Faber will face Frankie Saenz, December 12th.
