Brandon Halsey can reclaim the title he never lost inside the cage this Friday night at Bellator 144.
Halsey, who was stripped of the middleweight championship after missing weight, will face Rafael Carvalho in the main event on Spike TV from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
This past May, officials removed the title from Halsey’s (9-0) waist prior to a fight vs. Kendall Grove. The former NCAA wrestler weighed in at 188 pounds, three over the max.
Carvalho (11-1) is 2-0 since signing with Bellator last year, including a split decision win in April over Joe Schilling. He is on an 11-fight win streak.
Other planned main card bouts include Brennan Ward vs. Dennis Olson, Isao Kobayashi vs. Goiti Yamauchi and Michael Page vs. Charlie Ontiveros.
The card was also to feature Eduardo Dantas-Marcos Galvao, but an injury scrapped the bantamweight championship match.
