Derrick Lewis has gone the distance just twice in his 20-fight MMA career.
Lewis will meet fellow knockout artist Roy Nelson this July at UFC Fight Night 90, and the heavyweight has no plans to make it three decisions.
“My fans were asking me and believe it would be a good match up. It’s a fan-friendly fight,” said Lewis, during a recent appearance on UFC Tonight. “Two guys are going to stand and trade, no running around. It’s not going three rounds.
“It’ll finish in two minutes. Either he’s going to be knocked out or I’m going to be knocked out. No way in hell we’re going to the judges.”
Lewis has picked up three straight wins, all via knockout, including a recent first round finish of former title contender Gabriel Gonzaga. He is 8-2 over his last 10, including six UFC finishes.
Nelson (21-12) owns 14 knockouts and four submission wins to his resume, but has gone to the scorecards in each of his last three fights.
