As one would expect, Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson have a difference of opinion on their first meeting.
Woodley left UFC 205 last year with the welterweight title still around his waist after the bout was declared a majority draw. They’ll rematch at UFC 209 later this year in Las Vegas.
Wednesday night, the two appeared on “UFC Tonight” to talk about that first bout and what will be different about the second one.
Tyron Woodley on the first fight: “Round three is the only controversial round. I watched it several times and I thought I won it.”
Stephen Thompson on which rounds he thought he won: “Second, third and fifth. I thought I won round three.”
Stephen Thompson on how he’ll fight Woodley differently: “There are a lot of things I didn’t do during the fight. Working the angles, more kicks. I was a little hesitant. I’m going to go back and make some adjustments.”
Tyron Woodley on rematching Thompson: “I will make some adjustments. He was hesitant in the last fight because he got cracked with the right hand and I’m going to give him a few more those to think about.”
