Rather, the 33-year old kickboxer will make his featherweight debut against Nova Uniao product Diego Nunes at the show where each man’s balanced attack should result in a fantastic fight once the cage door closes.

The Siver-Nunes match-up was first reported by Swedish outlet MMANytt and has since been confirmed by MMAJunkie.

Nunes is coming off a victory against Manny Gamburyan at UFC 141 after coming up short against Kenny Florian in his previous effort. The 17-2 Brazilian also holds wins under the Zuffa banner over Raphael Assuncao and Mike Brown.

While the bulk of Siver’s success has come at 155 pounds, finding success against the likes of Spencer Fisher and George Sotiropoulos, a recent loss to Donald Cerrone prompted the 19-8 competitor to drop down in weight. However, a win over Nunes would certainly establish Siver as an immediate threat in the division.

UFC on Fuel 2 is scheduled for April 14 and will be headlined by surging Swede Alexander Gustafsson taking on seasoned veteran Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

When German striker Dennis Siver takes to the Octagon at UFC on Fuel 2 he’ll be doing so in a new division, debuting at 145 pounds after spending the bulk of his UFC career at lightweight. However, despite the difference it appears the 32-year old (who turns 33 on Friday) will at least face a familiar foe in the form of Ross Pearson. The two fought to a decision in 2010 with Pearson coming out ahead on the judges’ scorecards.

News of the April 14 match-up in Stockholm was reported by Swedish outlet MMANytt, where sourcing included confirmation from a UFC official.

UPDATE: Interestingly enough the UFC has said the fight is “not happening” via their Twitter account even though the bout was also allegedly confirmed by MMAJunkie.

Pearson made the drop to featherweight late last year and had a successful first showing against game opponent Junior Assuncao at UFC 141. The Ultimate Fighter 9 winner holds an overall record of 13-5 with eight stoppages, only one of which has taken place inside the Octagon and involved a doctor’s decision rather than a strike/submission-based finish.

Comparably, the 19-8 Siver has won four of his last five fights with a 7-2 mark in the UFC. Among his past victories are those over Spencer Fisher, Matt Wiman, and George Sotiropoulos.

UFC on Fuel 2 is headlined by light heavyweight sensation Alexander Gustafsson taking on polished veteran Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and also features Brian Stann in action against Alessio Sakara.

Now it appears 19-8 Dennis Siver will be joining that list alongside the likes of other notable 155ers who’ve decided to dip their toes in a different pool including such names as Kenny Florian, Tyson Griffin, Ross Pearson, Charles Oliveira, Cole Miller, and many others.

Siver started climbing the lightweight ranks in June 2010 when he defeated Spencer Fisher via unanimous decision. Following that victory he rattled off wins against Andre Winner, George Sotiropoulos, and Matt Wiman in order to position himself as one of the top contenders in the division. However, his momentum was halted at UFC 137 in October when he was submitted in the first round by Donald Cerrone.

The German striker will make the move to featherweight sometime in 2012, although no official debut date has been set. News of Siver’s planned drop comes courtesy of MMAFighting.

It looks like the UFC could be giving fans another early Halloween treat this October after already announcing a handful of “sweet” match-ups for their October 29 return to Las Vegas.

According to a source close to the situation, FiveOuncesofPain.com has confirmed a brawl between scintillating strikers Sam Stout and Dennis Siver is planned for UFC 137 though nothing official has been inked yet. A win for either is likely to put them in the discussion for a crack at the top names in the division.

Stout’s last showing marked perhaps his most impressive performance to date at UFC 131 in Vancouver where put Yves Edwards to sleep in the first round with a “Knockout of the Night” winning strike. Though it was the first KO for “Hands of Stone” in the UFC, the win was the fourth in five fights for the Team Tompkins student and the ninth strike-based stoppage of his career.

Comparably, Siver is coming off a controversial decision win over Matt Wiman at UFC 132. The victory was the fourth consecutive instance of in-ring success for the powerful German kickboxer and added to a streak already including George Sotiropoulos and Spencer Fisher

UFC 137 is headlined by Georges St. Pierre‘s title-defense against Strikeforce stand-out Nick Diaz and will also feature Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic vs. Roy Nelson, Cheick Kongo vs. Matt Mitrione, and Hatsu Hioki vs. George Roop. The card is also rumor to involve a welterweight showdown between B.J. Penn and Carlos Condit.

Penn (16-7-2) and Jon Fitch (23-3-1).

Also scheduled for the July 2 show, respected lightweights George Sotiropoulos (14-3) and Evan Dunham (11-2) will look to rebound from recent losses when they face each other while the man who beat Sotiropoulos, Dennis Siver(18-7), takes on on Matt Wiman (13-5) with both hoping to run their current winning streaks up to four in a row.

Two of MMA’s top-ranked competitors, Fitch and Penn fought to a draw in a contendership-determining clash late last month at UFC 127 and were rumored for an immediate re-pairing shortly thereafter. The performance marked the only time Fitch hadn’t exited the Octagon with a win aside from a decision loss to Georges St. Pierre in 2008. Comparably, Penn was coming off a twenty-second knockout of Matt Hughes in his previous bout but had lost back-to-back title-fights against Frank Edgar at 155-pounds prior to his return to welterweight.

A previously announced match-up between Shane Roller (10-3) and Melvin Guillard will also be among the group set for action at UFC 132.

With eight consecutive victories, seven of which have come in the Octagon, George Sotiropoulos likely earned the right to compete for the UFC’s lightweight title in the eyes of many after submitting Joe Lauzon in the second round of their bout at “UFC 123: Rampage vs. Machida”. However, the promotion has already promised a crack at the belt to whoever emerges WEC’s 155-pound champ in the organization’s final show next month, meaning the well-rounded Australian will see in-ring action again at least one more time before an opportunity at the gold.

Fortunately, it appears Sotiropoulos will at least return to the ring in his quest for a title-shot with a distinct home-field advantage, as UFC President Dana White announced the 33-year old will be facing 17-7 Dennis Siver on February 27 at UFC 127 in Sydney during post-event press conference duties on Saturday night.

Siver has walked away with his hands raised in back-to-back fights, as well as in six of his last seven, including a recent submission win over Andre Winner about a week ago at UFC 122. He has finished fourteen of the seventeen opponents he’s beaten including two in the Octagon by way of a spinning back-kick.

In addition to Siver vs. Sotiropoulos, also scheduled for UFC 127 is a clash between welterweight stars B.J. Penn and Jon Fitch, as well as a rumored bout between Ultimate Fighter Season 3 winner Michael Bisping and veteran striker Jorge Rivera.

Though 31-year old Dennis Siver had compiled sixteen wins in the ring prior to Saturday evening, chances are his victory over Andre Winner at UFC 122 meant more to him on a personal level than any other example of his past success in MMA.

Siver, who choked Winner out a little less than four minutes into their match-up, not only won in dominating fashion in front of his fellow Germans on the biggest stage of his career but also notched “Submission of the Night” (and an attached $60,000 check) with the fight-finishing Rear-Naked Choke.

News of the bonus was reported at the post-event press conference.

Also earning a show-related distinction, and sixty thousand dollars, was 8-1 light heavyweight Karlos Vemola who received “Knockout of the Night” for his opening-round TKO of Seth Petruzelli. Vemola evened his record in the Octagon to 1-1 with the performance while also maintaining his impressive streak of first-frame wins (8-for-8).

Similar to Vemola, “Fight of the Night” was assigned to a preliminary pairing, as 23-year old “wunderkind” Pascal Krauss’ unanimous decision victory over Mark Scanlon was given the honor in addition to each taking home the related money. The 10-0 Krauss hails from Freiburg, meaning locals certainly had a reason to go home happy from the Konig Pilsener Arena as two-of-three bonuses were awarded to their fellow Germans (the other being Siver).

A lightweight matchup between Dale Hartt and Dennis Siver has been added to the card for UFC 99 on June 13 during the UFC’s German debut.

MMAWeekly.com was the first outlet to reveal news of the matchup and FiveOuncesOfPain.com has since confirmed the fight with a source close to one of the fighters.

Siver, a standout wrestler, will be competing in his home country against Hartt. He improved to 13-6 overall and 2-3 lifetime in the UFC following his third round TKO victory over Nate Mohr at UFC 93 this past January.

Hartt, 6-1, has not competed since December’s “Fight for the Troops” event, where he was awarded a second round TKO victory after opponent Corey Hill suffered a severe leg injury while attempting to deliver a kick. The win brought Hartt’s UFC record to .500 following his first round submission loss to Shannon Gugerty at UFC Fight Night 14 this past July.

UFC 99 will emanate from the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany and will be headlined by a 195 pound catchweight fight between former PRIDE middleweight champion Wanderlei Silva and former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin.

In addition to Franklin vs. Silva and Hart vs. Siver, UFC 99 will also reportedly feature matchups between Mike Swick vs. Ben Saunders, Marcus Davis vs. Dan Hardy, Caol Uno vs. Spencer Fisher, Cain Velasquez vs. Heath Herring, Stefan Struve vs. Denis Stojnic, Paul Taylor vs. Peter Sobotta, Todd Duffee vs. Mustapha al Turk, and Justin Buchholz vs. Terry Etim.

UFC lightweight competitor Nate Mohr is expected to return from injury to take on Dennis Siver at UFC 93 on Jan. 17 at the O2 Arena in Dublin, Ireland.

FiveOuncesOfPain.com confirmed the matchup on Monday afternoon with sources close to the fight.

Siver, 12-6, is a native of Germany with a strong amateur wrestling background. He’ll be returning to the Octagon after fighting outside of the UFC last month in Darmstadt, Germany at Mix Fight Gala VII. Siver was victorious after submitting Chas Jacquier with a guillotine at 4:21 of round 1.

Prior to the win over Jacquier, Siver was coming off two consecutive losses in the UFC. His two fight losing streak began at UFC Fight Night 12 this past January when he lost a unanimous decision to Gray Maynard. The streak was extended after he was TKO’d just 36 seconds into a fight against Melvin Guillard at UFC 86 this past July.

Mohr, 8-5, has not fought since losing to Manny Gamburyan at UFC 79 last December in Las vegas. Matched up against the former TUF 5 veteran in a preliminary bout, Mohr tapped to an Achilles lock at 1:31 of round 1. Prior to the Gamburyan loss, the Team Curran product had recorded a unanimous decision victory over Luke Caudillo at UFC Fight Night 10 in June of 2007.

UFC 93 is scheduled to be headlined by a light heavyweight matchup featuring Rich Franklin and Dan Henderson. Additional matchups includes Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Mark Coleman, Denis Kang vs. Alan Belcher, Andre Gusmao vs. Antonio Mendes, and Marcus Davis vs. Chris Lytle.
