Last night there were two MMA events that featured some exciting fights as well as some competition involving well known names in MMA. In Hawaii, ICON Sport: Hard Times featured a fight involving the always extravagant Phil Baroni as well as a possible Fight of the Year candidate as Bao Quach took on Mark Oshiro. Rich Crunkilton has been forced to withdraw from a planned lightweight bout against Donald Cerrone during World Extreme Cagefighting’s upcoming show scheduled for Sunday, June 1 at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, Calif. Overall, I thought it was a slightly above average show. I liked the first show much better simply because the fights turned out better. The outcome of fights isn’t something a promotion can control so I’m not blaming the WEC. It’s just the way things went down. Maybe some blame can be assessed to the WEC for not finding a better opponent for Paulo Filho,... 

WEC 29 is currently scheduled to take place on August 5 and be televised on the Versus network. But it appears things are going well for the WEC because they have another card scheduled for September 5 on Versus.
