UFC Fight Night 14 Awards & Bonuses

MMA Mania has learned the recipients of the UFC Fight Night 14 bonuses for Fight of the Night, Submission of the Night, and Knockout of the Night. They are as follows:
- Frankie Edgar and Hermes Franca added an extra $25,000 to their payday for the Fight of the Night. Franca and Edgar fought a three round war that had Edgar controlling the fight but Franca not going away quietly and dropping bombs on Edgar throughout.
- C.B. Dollaway earned a $25,000 bonus for Submission of the Night. Dollaway’s Peruvian Necktie submission on Jesse Taylor was a thing of beauty.
- Rory Markham padded his wallet with an extra $25,000 bonus for Knockout of the Night. Markham’s head kick to end the fight against Brodie Farber is right up there with some of the best knockouts all year.
The UFC handed the bonuses out to the correct people. Dollaway’s submission was one of the best of the year, Franca vs. Edgar was the clear cut best fight of the night, and Markham’s knockout of Farber was one of those moments where you hit rewind six or seven times and each time it gets worse. Anderson Silva’s knockout of James Irvin was devastating but it didn’t deserve the knockout bonus.

CB definitely comes off cocky, but I can’t argue for one second that his submission was one of the best ever. Something I’ve never seen done in competition and something that may not ever be seen again. Bravo, CB!!
I thought Johnson/Burns was fight of the night.. Before the ending it was a great great fight.
What fight were you watching? All I saw was Johnson getting poked in the eye every single round over and over again.
Burns needs to get that lead hand under control.
“A thing of beauty”??? “One of the best ever”??? It’s the only submission CB has and he doesn’t even do it right. He fell to the outside and left Jesse plenty of time to roll over before he put his leg over his back. After watching the show, who didn’t expect CB to try that every time that he sprawled?
I thought the Johnson was best if u take those eye pokes. That burns guy even said thats how he has to punch. I still think they need to make that a no contest or something. Johnson would destroy him if they fought again and i think johnson has a bright future. Rory markam will make an interesting fighter, but not a great fighter. kinda like a chris leben who will stand and bang with u

In C.B.’s last fight he tried to renege his tapping out. This fight he knees Taylor to the head which I didn’t see how anyone could see as accidental, gets a warning? no point deduction, it was too blantant! This guys tries anything to win, no class.
I’ll have say Jesse didn’t look the same after that knee. He should have took some more time. I think he was more dazed than he thought. It’s also true that just about any other more skilled fighter would have been able to escape. But it’s nice that CB got the sub with it. I like seeing off the wall subs like that. Now we just need someone to tap to a proper omoplata!
